I love Colourpop so much! They have such fun, interesting makeup for their prices! 💖 The Golden State of Mind palette is no exception. Here's what I loved about it, and what I didn't love quite as much. 😂 (plus 2 eyeshadow looks using only this palette!)

❥ First of all, the packaging is gorgeous! I love the beautiful gold details, and I also appreciate all the shade names on the back. It would be much easier if they were on the face of the palette where all the shadows actually are, but they're trying that out with one of their new palettes now. This is their first all-glitter palette. The price is $26 dollars, which I think is too steep for this palette, but as of today (02/17/18) it's on sale on colourpop's website for $20. That's a pretty good price for this palette!

❥ Now for swatches and my favorite shades! I swatched the shades from left to right and top to bottom in the palette starting at my wrist. I think this palette has a good mix of vibrant and neutral colors. My #1 favorite shade in the palette is Uptight (2nd row and 2nd from left in palette, 7th swatch down). It is a stunning, deep rose gold, almost a red gold. My #2 favorite shade is GRLFRND (1st row and 3rd from left, 3rd swatch down). It looks white in the pan, but it has a beautiful pastel pink flip, so it looks much more pink on the eyes. These were the main 2 colors I used in my first eyeshadow look.

❥ For this look, I began with eyeshadow primer all over the lid to try and keep all these glitter-heavy shadows in place. I used the Wet n Wild Photo Focus Eye Primer. I started with a base of Watch Out all over my lid and blended up to the browbone, then I added a little bit of Drizzle to my crease. I used a fluffy brush to blend Uptight into my crease from the outer edge to almost my inner corner. I deepened it by adding Heads or Tales, focusing on the outer edge. Then I used a flat brush to pack GRLFRND onto the center of my lid, and a pencil brush to pack in in my inner corner. I went back in and softened the edges with a tiny bit of Drizzle on a fluffy brush. I love the way it turned out, I'm a sucker for pink eyeshadow! 💖

❥ I wanted to do a more casual, neutral for look #2. I used the Wet n Wild primer as a base again, and blended Drizzle from lid to browbone with a flat brush. I deepened the crease with Can't Stop, and used Tinker Time on the outer corner. I used a little bit of Sparkler near the center of my crease to blend the colors together. I softened the edges with a clean fluffy brush, and added eyeliner.
❥ Moving on to application and quality! I found that most shades in the palette weren't very pigmented. This makes it good for beginners who are not super comfortable with blending very pigmented shadows yet. But they're not very buildable unless you use your fingertip, so it's hard to get the same intensity from the pan to show up on your eye. Because these are glitter shadows, I expected fallout, and there definitely was. You can see in the pictures the little glitter flecks below my eyes. What you can't see is that for look #1, my right eye was bugging me, and I had to keep trying to rub the glitter off my contact all day long. 😂 I could have been a little more careful though, I could have applied a little translucent powder under my eyes to help the fallout not stick to my face and brush away after. I also packed a lot of shadow on my brushes to try to get more color payoff instead of tapping off the excess. I think there are quite a few extremely similar shades in this palette, maybe a few too many. Also, some of the interesting colors were a bit disappointing. Pay the Piper, which looks to be a gorgeous icy teal in the pan, swatches as a bright white. Pretty, but not what I was hoping for.
❥ I would recommend this palette to makeup beginners or those who want to add a subtle glam to their everyday looks. All in all, I'm going to give this palette 6 out of 10 sparkle emojis! ✨✨✨✨✨✨
